Mackay's Pit Fishing.
Mackay's Pit is Common Land for which the Parish Council are custodians for the community.
The pit has recently been dredged at great expense as part of an ongoing project to bring it back to its former glory as a much valued village amenity. It is now going through a period of settling down before being re-stocked with fish. Fishing Platforms have also been constructed along the roadside bank.
Fishing is allowed all year round from the roadside bank only and a rod licence is required which can be obtained at the Post Office or online from the Environment Agency. The other banks are private land and there is no access to the general public.
